What dates define the classification of antique, veteran, vintage, post vintage and classic?

Antique: pre 1905

Vintage: 1919-1930 Model t Ford
Post Vintage: 1931 – 1945 Standard 10 1935
Classic 1946 – 1983 1959 Anglia


Q. How much does it cost to join the club?     

A. €25.00 and €30.00 for a couple Renewal starts Mar 1st annually


Q.How much does it cost to participate in a run?

A. €20.00 to participate in a run. Meal vouchers can be purchased from a club officer before the run. After the running costs are covered any remaining funds go to charity.
When the run is for charity all proceeds go to the designated charity.


Q.At what age is a car eligible for vintage tax?

A. 30 years to the date of first registration.


Q.At what age is a car eligible for vintage insurance?

A. A car is eligible for for vintage insurance at 20-25 years depending on the insurance company that you are with.


Q.Does a vintage car need an NCT?

A. 30 year old cars are exempt BUT all cars on the road should be in a road worthy condition.


Q.What methods can be used to convert a petrol engine to run on unleaded petrol?

  1. Use of a petrol additive
  2. New valves and harder valve seats in the head of the engine.
